The Task Force for protection of children was formed in August 2016.  The Office of Safe Environment was established in January 2017. Archbishop Michael J. Byrnes adopted the USCCB Charter in February 2017, Safe Environment Policies went into effect in October 2017, and first VIRTUS training launched on November 17, 2017.
